Another of my pieces from the Boulder Plein Air, this one a redo of a scene I did a couple weeks ago, different format.
I've included the old and the newer version. As you can see the hillsides are a little greener, as spring has worked its way up the mountains and less snow on the peaks.

Here's the one from before. Mac Lake Morning, 9 x 12

Here's one I did in the early evening at Hamms Pond. It looked like rain was hitting areas north of us but we had a nice sunset.

After the Rain Storm

After experiencing a rare all-day rainstorm in the desert it was a miracle to see the beautiful sunset reflected in the rain puddles. They didn't last long; they were gone by the next day. I just felt I had to do a painting of the scene.
Here's the result. I have been working on this off and on for the last couple months until I got it (almost) like I wanted it.

Iris, 14 x 11
It's been a good spring for rain here, although it has been extremely dry for many parts of the country. We are fortunate to have had
a lot of good blooms this spring including our iris which have done very well this year. I picked a few of the earliest bloomers, stuck them in this green jug and did a painting.

The Boulder plein air event starts this week from June 5-11th and I'll be participating. A preview exhibition is now open at both the R Gallery on Broadway in Boulder and the Museum of Boulder, also on Broadway. The week will be filled with paint-outs ending with a show at the Canyon Center, 1881 9th Street, Boulder. Please join me at the opening reception, June 11th 6-8:30 at the Canyon Center.
Here's a little sample of the art I have at the Boulder Museum for the preview show. Come and check it out, and see all the art at the Canyon Center next week.

Silverton

This is from one of the many photographs I took when visiting Silverton two years ago before Covid. At early April Silverton was still locked down in deep snow from what was a heavily snowed winter that year. So even though it was starting to melt off, the edges of the streets were still clothed in waist deep snow with lots of runoff puddles and mud. I liked this view especially.
