Teller Farm paintings

Here are a couple paintings I did recently at Teller Farm.  I am trying out some paintings in gouache, thinking it would be a good medium for trips and such and below is one of my first gouache attempts. I liked the scene so much I went back a couple days later and did it again a little larger in oil.

The red weed in the bottom of the paintings is curly dock which grows around here on waste patches of land and some fallow fields. Apparently curly dock is edible and the seeds, leaves stems and roots all have edible or medicinal qualities. Here I thought it was just a useless weed. The leaves if young and tender are supposed to be tastier than spinach.
